GROW FEBRUARY PLANTER
Tiny, velvety iris
Iris reticulata
I. reticulata ‘J.S. Dijit’
I. reticulata ‘Katherine Hodgkin’
multipurpose compost
small bag of gravel
Clumps of fledgling minature iris are jewel-like perfection in reclaimed tin planters. We bought £2 shooting iris bulbs in small pots and found an old, lone filing-cabinet drawer at a reclaimation yard.
Tip gravel to cover the base of the planter and then fill with miltipupose compost. Plant the bulbs in groups, putting similiar colours together. Water gently, any excess water will run in to the gravel base.
Stand your planter indoors or out.
